Festivals

Download Rubrics.
Since the introduction of the rubric form, WSMA Festival Committee members have been integral in improving and developing rubrics for Solo & Ensemble events. Beginning with the 2008-2009 festival season, specialized rubrics are being introduced for Event 307 Jazz Piano Improvisation Solo, Event 571 Handbell Choir and Event 572 Miscellaneous Handbell Ensemble. Teachers are encouraged to visit the Member Schools area of the WSMA web site to download "comment only" versions of the rubrics when preparing for this year's festivals.

Register for Concert Festivals.
With concert festivals fast approaching, teachers are reminded to register for their WSMA Concert Festival, Clinic Performance Assessment, Alternative Clinic Performance Assessment or Informance at least three weeks in advance of the event. Registration forms may be found in the Members Schools area of the WSMA web site. WSMA Festival Rules IV. A-D outline concert ensemble requirements. Teachers may contact WSMA to verify the school's concert status.
