WSMA State Fair Marching Showcase   
A Partnership Between Two Wisconsin Traditions

Partnership:

The Wisconsin State Fair and Wisconsin School Music Association are proud to partner in offering the State Fair Marching Showcase. The showcase combines the precision of performance with the entertainment and excitement of the Grandstand as well as providing a fun and educational performance venue for you and your students.

In the spirit of two Wisconsin traditions, we are honored to collaborate in offering this exciting event!

Ensemble Requirements:

The Marching Showcase is open to a wide variety of marching units. Participants range from Show Bands, Baton Corps and Color Guards to Drum Lines, Horn Sections and Corps Style Bands. All styles of outdoor marching unit are welcome. Ensembles are asked to provide all of their own equipment including keyboards and amps.

Evaluation:

Each participating ensemble will receive a taped review of their performance by qualified evaluators.  The comments will focus on the quality of the performance as well as suggesting methods of improvement.

Awards:

Each participating ensemble receives a participation plaque recognizing their involvement in the Marching Showcase.  Plaques will be given during the closing ceremonies of the event.

 

Registration Fee:

There is no registration fee for 2010 to participate in this event

Provisions for Performing Units:

Performing students, one director, one assistant director and one chaperone per 10 performing students are admitted to State Fair Park free of charge.  All other students, fans, chaperones and staff will need to pay the regular gate fee to the park.

Grandstand Fee:

Spectators may view the Marching Band Showcase from the seats of the Grandstand but there is a nominal charge.  Spectators will also need to purchase a ticket to the State Fair Park so that they may access the Grandstand entrance.
