"We believe in meeting the needs of schools
for music education, further strengthening existing programs
and creating new ones."
As the state organizations most widely called upon for leadership
services, student programs, and resources for music education,
the Wisconsin School Music Association, the Wisconsin Music
Educator's Association, and the Wisconsin Foundation for School
Music are obligated to create the Wisconsin Center for Music
Education.
This 15,000 square foot Center located in Waunakee near the
I-90 / 94 corridor north of Madison will provide opportunities
and resources to support music education and those who are
dedicated to continuing its development in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Center for Music Education will meet several
critical needs and serve as a catalyst for expanded opportunities
in music education for Wisconsin. Just as local school and
community facilities for the performing arts continue to expand,
the state organizations who sponsor and facilitate music opportunities
for thousands of people also need to expand.
Besides providing headquarters office space for state music
associations, these specialized facilities will allow for
expanded services and outreach:
- Library and Resource Center
of music and music education materials.
- Digital Sound Studio to create
resources for students and adults.
- Distance Learning and Video Conferencing
Center for teaching and learning.
- Classroom and Conference Rooms
for on-site workshops and meetings.
- Work Areas for volunteers,
committee members, and special project leaders.
- Flexible Work Spaces and Office Services
for partner organizations.
