State Honors Music Project Participant

A donor may designate a chair in a section of an Honors group, and/or a specific chair by instrument or voice in an Honors group. A donor may also choose to fund a student from a particular school, community, geographic area, ethnic or minority group (Note: students must qualify for an Honors group through existing application and audition procedures. If no student qualifies from the designated school or group in a given year, the endowed tuition grant will be available for another Honors student).

High School State Honors Conductor
$60,000 each (five total)

Middle Level State Honors Conductor
$30,000 each (three total)

Hig School State Honors Musician
$10,000 each (421 total)

Middle Level State Honors Musician
$5,000 each (300 total)

Naming Options

Donors are invited to create their own named endowed chair. Here are a few examples:

  • The Richard Gaarder Tenor Chair for the WSMA High School State Honors Mixed Choir, given by R. Scott Pierce
  • The Harvard Erdman Percussion Chair for the WSMA High School State Honors Band, given by Richard Fellenz
  • The WSMA High School State Honors Orchestra Trombone Chair, recognizing Jamie, Kelsey and Jessie Kember, Honors Alumni
  • The WSMA High School State Honors Mixed Choir Bass Chair, given by Linda Peterse
